2011 is Underway

Welcome back to a new school year! We are now Room 1 and we have changed from Year Ones to Year Twos.

During the last two weeks we had a special guest student in our classroom - Sam from Christchurch. Sam was at his school in Christchurch City Centre when the February 6.4 earthquake struck. He and his family have had some time-out at Mt Maunganui and have just headed back home as Sam's school is now repaired. We have enjoyed meeting Sam and he will be missed in Room 1.

Swim! Swim! Swimming!

Room 8 is starting swimming again from tomorrow!!!!!!!!! So don't forget your togs :)

Athletics Day

Next week Team Tay are going to have our Athletics Day on Friday. Room 8 children brain-stormed a poem together about Athletics. Have a read!

Art Week Celebration

During the last week of Term Mt Primary celebrated visual and performing arts by creating vegetable and fruit characters and performing two dances to the school community. A big thank you to the parents who were able to assist with the vegetable creating - we had a fabulous day! Some very creative results! Check out the photos:

SPCA Team Trip

Last week we enjoyed a much -looked- forward- to trip to the Tauranga Animal Shelter. The children (and parents and teachers!) loved patting and leading the new puppies and saying hello to the cats. We brought them in some pet food to keep them going and we hoped that they all find new human companions very soon!
